Our Story

A family's eye for
the unforgettable.

A brother-and-sister studio — twenty years of set-design craft, married to an artist's eye, for the Lowcountry's most memorable celebrations.

A Family Business

Two siblings, one shared eye for beauty.

Lowcountry Events is a brother-and-sister studio — Richard Krish and Michelle Wilcox — built on two decades of craft and a lifetime of shared taste. One engineers the magic; the other imagines it. Together they bring a rare completeness to every celebration: the structure and the soul.

Richard Krish · Craft & Construction

A set designer at heart.

For more than twenty years, Richard has built worlds for a living — rigging, lighting, and dressing sets for film and television, where everything must look effortless and nothing is left to chance.

He brings that same discipline to private celebrations. Where others see a tent, Richard sees a stage: how the light will fall, where the eye should travel, what makes a room feel intentional rather than assembled. Lighting, rigging, draping, and custom builds — all in-house, all to one vision.

Based in the Piedmont, working across South Carolina from the Midlands to the coast.

Michelle Wilcox · Vision & Aesthetic

An artist's eye for the room.

Michelle is the studio's creative soul — an artist who approaches a celebration the way a painter approaches a blank canvas. Colour, proportion, the fall of fabric and the warmth of candlelight: she composes a space until every element belongs and the whole room seems to exhale.

Her gift is atmosphere — that intangible quality that makes guests pause in the doorway. She layers texture and tone with a painterly instinct, drawing palettes from the marsh and the magnolia, the linen and the lantern, until a design feels less designed than simply, beautifully inevitable.

The artist and the engineer, the soul and the structure — and the kind of trust only family can build.

What We Stand For

Custom. Classic. On time.

Custom

Nothing off a shelf. Every drape line, light, and build is designed for your venue, your palette, and your night — and never repeated.

Classic

Timeless over trendy. We design rooms that will look as elegant in your photographs in twenty years as they did on the day.

On Time

Production discipline means we load in, build, and strike on schedule — calm, prepared, and ready before your first guest arrives.

How We Work

From first call to last dance.

01

Consult

We learn your venue, vision, and date — and what would make the room feel like yours.

02

A tailored plan for lighting, draping, rigging, and any custom builds — one cohesive look.

03

Our team loads in and builds with production-grade precision and safety.

04

Celebrate

You enjoy the night. We handle the magic — and the strike when it's over.
